Want a quick and easy way to clean your dog without the cost or mess involved? Where you can just rock up with your dog on a leash with a towel in hand, use someone else’s equipment and then just leave?

A DIY (do-it-yourself) dog wash unit can be found at various places throughout Perth, inside Pet Stores and Vets more notably. They are safe, secure and an environmentally friendly way to wash your dog using non-toxic grooming products without wasting water. The best bit? Alot of them are cheap (around $10 )  and in some places – free!

There’s probably a local DIY Dog Wash in Perth near you.  To save you the leg work, I’ve tried to locate all the DIY Dog Washing facilities available in Perth (I phoned up alot of places) to give you this doggy directory to make you and your furry friend’s life easier. But first. Meet my dog:

I love her so much. She gives great hugs and we always do everything together, like trying to catch butterflies or playing hide & seek.

However, sometimes she can smell. She is my little ‘wombat’, after all.

Fortunately I know of a few local DIY dog washing facilities nearby that I can always rely on, where I can just rock up without having to book an appointment.  One is located in a pet store, which by the way is a smart business tactic. What better way to get pet owners into your pet store than to offer a free DIY Dog Wash station? Hat tip to you, Pet City – you guys are the best.

DIY dog washing also means you can wash your pup without worrying about the mess. Sure, have some ettiquite and think of the next person using the bath after you (i.e. hose down the dog bath after you’re finished), but it’s not like your cleaning your dog in your backyard – you don’t have to worry that much about cleaning up!

I really enjoy washing Na’vi, it’s like washing a chubby wombat. She’s really cute and makes lots of doey-eyed facial expressions at me. She has a nice temperment and is never camera-shy.

I really do believe that DIY dog washing creates a positive bonding experience between owner and pet. Cleaning your furry friend is the type of intimacy they have probably been craving from you for all week! (except for when the hose starts then they change their mind).
