RedPoppyJewellery is a Perth jewellery brand with a difference, creating fashionable and wearable art that’s designed, sourced & handcrafted locally.
Founded in 2016, RedPoppyJewellery is a highly awarded jewellery designer maker based in Perth, Western Australia. Behind the brand is Vanessa Nowrojee, an extremely talented and creative young Perth woman that not only hand designs jewellery from scratch, but also handcrafts it all.
And the best bit? All of her materials (metals, stones and more) are bought straight from premium Perth suppliers, such as The Perth Mint, making redpoppyjewellery one of the rare small businesses out there that is truly 100% locally designed, sourced and created.
Vanessa recently reached out to me via PerthGirl, inviting me to wear some of her handcrafted jewellery for a fun mid-morning casual photoshoot at Elizabeth Quay. Of course, I said yes, as Perth businesses with a positive difference is what this blog is all about! 🙂

Hopping on the back of my boyfriend’s motorcycle, I got dropped off at Elizabeth Quay to meet with Vanessa for the first time for our impromptu photoshoot.
Bouncing off our surroundings, we integrated the unique landscape design of Elizabeth Quay into our photos, creating carefree and natural images that mix together the beautiful scenery of Perth with the artistic, experimental designs of redpoppyjewellery.
Take a look through our photos below, while learning more about Vanessa and her increasingly successful artisan jewellery line.

Hi Vanessa! Tell us a bit more about yourself and redpoppyjewellery.
Hi Tahnee. Being highly creative made jewellery design and making the best fit for me. After studying and gaining a wide range of industry knowledge and work experience, I decided to take charge and create my own pathway, simply doing what I know best, so I created redpoppyjewellery.
The jewellery I create is “wearable art“, and through my creations I hope to share my love of jewellery making, all while connecting with the community and other fellow artists through beauty, art and integrity.

What Inspires redpoppyjewellery’s creations?
Most of my jewellery designs are inspired by the world around us, nature, organic materials and experimental designs, and most of my pieces reflect my artistic flair and passion for creativity.
Another inspiration, and perhaps my biggest motivation would be my daughter, as she watches me make the jewellery. Her interest captivates me and motivates me to keep making jewellery, and to just keep going in life.
I really strive to master my craft and jewellery making is my passion and so I’m always happy to share my skills and working knowledge with others.
Who can wear redpoppyjewellery?
Redpoppy is for all walks of life. Women, men, kids, eccentrics, enthusiasts, the quirky, the cute, the bold and daring, and the very different. I cater for any style, fashion, jewellery events and occasions.
I’m available for:
- Exhibitions
- Fashion Cat Walk
- Artist Collaboration
- Artist in Residence
- Jewellery Parties
Can redpoppyjewellery custom create anything from scratch?
Yes! redpoppyjewellery offers one of a kind pieces that can not be replicated by any other jewellers when it comes to my style of jewellery making.
I can custom make and design hand crafted jewellery that is not mass manufactured, giving a more personal touch that makes it all the more special. Turn what inspires you in life into wearable art, jewellery with a purpose.
I can also come to your home and create a design for free.
How long does it take to custom make a piece of jewellery?
It can take up to three days to make a piece of jewellery to two weeks, depending on individual demand and project piece. I source my metal material from The Perth Mint for silver and gold, and source stones from only the best jewellery suppliers in Western Australia.
Any style advice for wearing redpoppyjewellery?
Everyone has their own style, however in my opinion – I personally recommend wearing redpoppyjewellery on Black or white clothing, or a natural palette to truly show off its artistic appeal.
What kind of materials do you work with?
I love working with silver, gold, beads, texture, shapes, organic coral, shells, and anything and everything that I can create into something unique and beautiful. Other jewellery materials consist of copper, brass, gem stones, fresh water pearls and Resin Mokume Gane (a Japanese Jewellery Technique).
Silver in particularly a favourite, as it gives a beautiful clean finish and is easy to work with. Gold Flake Bangles have been very popular as they look beautiful on and sparkle in the sun light.
Price Range of Jewellery?
Prices range from $10.00 to $200.00. Also subject to change depending on client requests. Premium materials and time spent handcrafting the creation also influences the pricing of a piece.
Where can we purchase redpoppyjewellery?
There’s a few places online where you can purchase redpoppyjewellery – our Etsy Store and our Facebook Page.
Just send us a message to enquire about hand made pieces of jewellery, or you can also view our Facebook Shop. At this stage, it’s purely an online shop and transport design service to sit with clients and spend the time to master a design they would love.
Otherwise, you can also shop on our website, or even write a comment on our instagram page.
Will redpoppyjewellery be in any Upcoming Exhibitions?
Yes! redpoppyjewellery has been formally invited to Exhibit at the Perth Anglican College, on the 31st of March, it then opens to the public the 1st and 2nd of April.
What’s special about this, is that a percentage of the sales go towards An Artist in Residence Programme at the school, and also to help fund The Senior Art Camp. I hope, through my brand and exhibitions, to inspire young girls to fulfill their dreams and to encourage art in no matter what shape or form.
