About Swan Valley
Swan Valley is a 25 minute drive from the Perth CBD and is a fantastic destination for those who enjoy good food and drink. It’s WA’s oldest growing wine region and home to many breweries, wineries, restaurants and local food producers.
Download the helpful Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail Map (a 32-km loop that takes in over 150 attractions) to show you just how much can be enjoyed in the Swan Valley region! I recommend Yahava Koffeeworks being your first morning pitstop!

What is Yahava?
Yahava was founded in 2001 by ‘coffee fanatic’ Alex Kok, whose dream was to travel the world’s great coffee growing regions on his motorbike, discover the very best of the best coffees, and then ship these beans back to Western Australia. In his Metricup Road shed, he would roast the coffee beans and the rest has become WA history.
They source 100% Arabica coffee beans from over 20 countries around the world which are roasted on site every day in small batches. These freshly roasted coffee beans are sold as single origins or mixed with their own well-known Yahava blends.
What makes Yahava extra special is their coffee appreciation sessions/free tastings. Through the informative staff there, you can learn about coffee growing, harvesting and roasting while sampling free coffee at the same time!
My Sunday Arvo Experience
I went here a while back on a Sunday and was impressed with not only its beautiful location and abundance of coffee sourced from around the world (mmm, sexy, exotic, foreign coffee), but the super friendly service too. The staff here are very well informed and know their stuff. And as for the coffee, well it’s got rich, full-bodied flavours, and you’ll find a great range of fine leaf teas here too (the earl grey tea is a personal favourite). This is a perfect place to stop by on a weekend afternoon with a group of mates, or the perfect stop in the morning before wine touring the region.
It can often be crowded here but that shouldn’t be too surprising. It’s in a really awesome location with lots of coffee.
