Drinking mulled wine for the first time at quirky and highly rated Five Bar in Mount Lawley. Oh and also trying out their delicious food platters.
Five Bar is a quirky and cosy small bar located on Beaufort Street in Mount Lawley, North of Perth. It offers modern pub food, free wi-fi, a great alcohol range and plenty of homely, comfortable seating.
Lots of positive reviews of this place, so I arranged to meet here with girlfriends on Friday night for food platters and mulled wine… my very first time trying mulled wine in fact. And I LOVED it!
If you’re not familiar with mulled wine already, it is a beverage that is commonly made with red wine along with various mulling spices and raisins. Port and Claret are traditional choices to make mulled wine and are often combined. It’s typically served hot or warm and is traditionally consumed during winter. As such, in many countries, it is a popular to drink around Christmas and Halloween.
Feast your eyes on the sharing boards we ordered. It features grilled haloumi with asparagus (with lemon and macadamias), sweet potato chips with curry mayonnaise, chicken wings, and a deli board with variety of meats and pickled vegetables.
We gulped this all down, it was absolutely delicious.
Sure, the food was outrageously amazing and flavoursome – but what about the customer service? Yep, that impressed me too. The waiters at Five Bar were hilarious and approachable, always down for a chat. They made our night fun.
Five Bar reminds me alot like bars in Melbourne. It’s has the high quality of food but without the pretentiousness. The quirky people that work there make it even more special. No wonder this place is a favourite nightspot for many.
